Our First Run-Through

Things are really coming together for "Disney's Beauty and the Beast Junior!" I don't know if you've had a chance to poke your head into rehearsal, but it is fun to watch!

Thank you to those who assisted with costume fittings on Tuesday. It is an immense job to outfit that many youngsters, and the costume crew continues with their work. If your child has concerns about not getting fitted or about potential costume fixes/changes, tell him or her to have no fear-- we are still a week-and-a-half out from dress rehearsals, and all characters will have costumes.

Tomorrow's (Thursday's) rehearsal is our first attempt at a show run-through. This is where, instead of working on a particular song or scene, we will begin at the start of the show and go all the way through, hopefully without stopping! So, BEGINNING TOMORROW, ALL ACTORS SHOULD PLAN TO ATTEND EVERY REHEARSAL. This is important for the continuity of the show, and most important for your child to feel comfortable with his/her role. All are equally vital to the success of the production.

The remaining rehearsals are:
Thursday, February 23-- first run-through
Monday, February 27
Tuesday, February 28
Thursday, March 1
Monday, March 5-- first dress rehearsal (please have costume pieces, undergarments, makeup and hair accessories here this day)
Tuesday, March 6
Wednesday, March 7
Thursday, March 8

Up until March 5, rehearsal will continue to wrap up at 5 p.m. During the week of dress rehearsals, however, you can expect rehearsals to run long. Feel free to send a book and an extra snack, or come and sit with your child, if you feel the extra time will be tough for him/her. By this point, however, the actors are all so excited and so dedicated to putting on a fantastic show, the time really does fly!

We are in need of parent volunteers to assist with dress rehearsals and performances. It takes an army to get all our excited actors dressed, focused, and ready to shine! Please email volunteer coordinator Michelle Studnicka (mlstudnicka@gmail.com) or visit the online volunteer sign up at: http://www.volunteersignup.org/Q3DQ7.

One more plea: We have our final regular work day this Saturday, February 25 at the school. If you have a few hours to dedicate to set building or painting, costuming, or props making, we could use all hands on deck!

We appreciate all your help and dedication to Saints on Stage! We can't wait for you to see what your children are creating!
